TBN Asia Invites Businesspeople to Open Social Enterprises and Businesses to Fight Poverty

Badung -Transformational Business Network (TBN) Asia Conference, through TBN Indonesia, encourages business people, investors, and entrepreneurs to create social businesses or enterprises. The goal is to combat poverty and protect the environment.
"A conference for business people, socio-enterprises, founders, and also NGOs (Non-Government Organizations) to bring about transformation, fight poverty in various countries. Also, issues related to society and the planet (environment)," said Chairman of TBN Indonesia Teddy Hartono Tanuwidjaja when met by detikBali at Trans Resort, Nusa Dua, Badung, Bali, Thursday (7/9/2023).

Teddy said that businesses that aim to combat poverty should be the type of business that will certainly empower the community. However, the business still pays attention to the environmentally friendly aspects and profits for its sustainability.

Teddy gave an example of the type of business in question that can be in any field. For example, a business in the field of agriculture or organic farming that does not damage the soil. It can also open a business in the field of electric-powered vehicles or building materials that replace concrete and bricks made from recycled materials.

"For example, agriculture. We implement (agriculture) that does not damage the soil. We can use environmentally friendly agricultural techniques. And of course, we have to improve the welfare of farmers. Then, for example, there is plastic. The plastic must be degradable. (Made from) cassava, for example. Still not exploiting (humans and the environment)," explained Teddy.

In addition, there are many business opportunities that can be opened and run, producing environmentally friendly and recyclable products. That way, many people who are struggling economically will be helped by the existence of these environmentally friendly businesses.

Teddy added that through the conference, it is hoped that it can encourage the world's top businessmen to help small business actors who also empower the community.

"So, the nature is not only exploitation and giving charity. But also elevating their dignity and exploring their potential. So that everyone can grow," he added.

According to him, all transformation processes are determined through the social business that is run. Social business, of course, must build the welfare of the people in it.

This means that there is no exploitation of humans or nature in running the business.

"A transformed business. A business that still employs people with decent places and wages. Also, building humans, not just exploiting them. So, building humans and society through the business world," he said.

For information, TBN Asia has held its 2nd forum in Indonesia since a year ago. The business conference was attended by all business actors and investors from 10 countries, including Indonesia.

The conference carries the jargon or principle of 5P. The principle of 5P, namely Purpose, People, Planet, Profit, and Peace (purpose, society, planet or environment, profit, and peace).

The topics discussed in the conference include six programs. Among others are Transformational Leadership Center, Green Technology Campus, Pre Incubator Young Sociopreneur, Social Enterprise Training Hub, Investment ready Social Enterprise, and Fair economy that prioritizes peace.
